I heard that you were but I did not know for sure.

I tried to reach out to Travis recently even after he made it clear he did not want some of us to. He barely liked a party, forget about a pity party.

Thank you so much for being there for him. It means a lot to some of us who couldn't be there for him but really wanted to.

My words are just that - words. But, as a writer, I don't have much else to work with. I was very choked up and did not write very well even. But that was not a time to overthink things. I just wanted the wider world to know what Travis had done for them.

When cricket brings me to London next, I'll be sure to message you. It would be a pleasure to meet you. I'm on twitter @anandvasu and instagram same handle and my email is my name @gmail.com. Please do connect on of those and we will meet up.

My brother lives in London and he too has met Travis a few times. I will be there whenever I can, soonest.

And as you say, we shall raise a glass and toast Travis.

Thank you so much, Nuala.

Martin, you know this doesn't do justice to the man. I'm choked for words. But the cricket world needs to know what he was, what he did and what he has left them with.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful eulogy. It really captures Travis. He was a close friend of mine for over 20 years. My heart is with his wife Jane and son Victor, and anyone who was lucky enough to know him 🖤

I'm told his nearest and dearest were with him when the time came. That is some comfort but not nearly enough. I met young Victor Brewer when he was only little and Jane was kind enough to sort out many things for me and my family when we were in London. Travis was a gem and I'm heartbroken to be referring to him in the past tense, even if I knew it was a matter of time. Truly shattered. It was a privilege to know him and be counted as one of his friends. If you could please pass on my post to Jane I would be most grateful. Travis probably would not have wanted to be written about, but I felt the cricket world should know, and perhaps show some gratitude to a legend of a person and a giant in cricket.

I was with Travis, Jane, and his dad, Bernard, when he passed. It was Jane who shared your post with me and others. Your words really do mean a lot - it's wonderful to hear about your friendship and experiences with him. If you're ever in London, it would be lovely to meet you over a beer or whisky and remember him.

Such a touching piece, Anand.. My eyes welled up. Rest In Peace, Travis. Condolences to his family and friends. Cancer is a bitch. Hopefully, one day a vaccine and other treatments will come and make it irrelevant and then hopefully, we will just look at it as a star sign and not a curse.

Regards and best wishes

Nitin

Thank you for your very kind message, Nitin. I know you've felt the force of this terrible disease more than most of us. Fingers crossed something improves.
